PERCUSSION FLAKED This is a nice example of a percussion flaked Predynastic knife. It has the typically wide sweeping curved blade edge. These types of heavy duty knives were probably being used for both utilitarian and for special ritual purposes. Animal sacrifice would be one example of a ritual purpose. This knife measures 6 5/8 inches (16.8 cm) long and 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm) wide.
