CLOVIS ARTIFACTS

This picture shows a number of Clovis artifacts from different sites located in the far western United States. The three Clovis points are from the Fenn cache. The focal point in this group is the beautiful crystal spear point in the center. Quartz is the most exotic material used by Clovis people. The bone with the serrated end is a fleshing tool (scraper) from the Agate Basin site in Wyoming. The curved tools at the bottom left are called crescents and their purpose is not yet completely understood. The bone rod with the ladder design engraved on one side is from the Richey/Roberts site in Washington. The bone wrench or shaft straightener is from the Murray Springs site in Arizona.
