SWEETWATER
BIFACE The Sweetwater Biface is one of the most skillfully percussion flaked bifaces ever found in North America. The ancient craftsman who made it had mastered the flintknapping skill of percussion flaking. Since it is so well made it's intended use may have been for ceremonial purposes or it could have been used as a knife. This biface may be related to the Caddoan Culture and may date to approximately A.D. 1300 to A.D. 1500. It measures 9 7/16 inches long, 3 3/8 inches wide and 3/16 of an inch thick. |
