This human effigy bottle was purchased on April 9, 1936 by Robert Bell's father, Harry T. Bell. This picture was taken by Robert Bell. The bottle is described as a kneeling female figure with incised hands in the area of the stomach. The ears are pierced and there is a topknot on top of the head. The facial features are rather unique. The eyes and mouth were formed with a stamp. Another oval design was also stamped onto the center of the forehead. Bottles like this may have been used to hold either water or seeds.
