This Ramey knife was found, several years ago, 1/4 mile north of Monks Mound on the Cahokia Mounds site in Madison County, Illinois. It was once in the Dr. Titterington collection. This Ramey knife is very well made. It is the thinnest example illustrated in this article. Most Ramey knives were made of Mill Creek chert. This one represents a small percentage of Ramey knives that were made of Kaolin chert. This example is one of the more colorful examples found in southern Illinois. It measures 6 1/8 inches (15.5 cm) long.
