PEBBLE PENDANT This small pebble pendant was found by a long time surface collector in a cultivated field in either Madison or St. Clair County in southern Illinois. It's made of red slate and measures 1 5/16 (3.3 cm) long, 7/8 inch (2.2 cm) wide and 5/32 inch (3.5 mm) thick. The area just above the hole had been broken away and has since been restored.
