This picture shows one of the five bone cores that were identified on the Lange Ferguson site. This is one of the best examples of a bone core that was found on the site. Both the core and a large refit flake were recovered. This core shows evidence of platform preparation prior to the longitudinal removal of the large flake. The bone core was struck from the end to remove this flake. This core measures 10 1/4 inches (26.1 cm) long and weighs 3.3 pounds (1,452.9 grams).
